Your Commitment
Managers run their own businesses for the summer. In order to succeed, however, your personal commitment to success is required as well. Here's how you can assure it:
You must commit to two intense management training weekends during the winter months.
You must devote your Spring Break and at least five spring weekends to working in your area. Working closely with your District Manager you will recruit, hire and train your team of painters as well as market, estimate and sell paint jobs that will be produced when you have concluded your exams.
During the summer you will need the use of a vehicle daily, either a car or a truck.
Once your full time summer operation begins, you will be responsible for production, quality control, customer relations and collections for your branch.
You must deal fairly at all times with customers and employees.
You will be responsible for all the day-to-day decisions of your branch.

7:00 Wake up
7:30 Paint store visit for daily supplies
8:30 Visit crew #1, drop off supplies, set goals
9:30 Visit crew #2, help painters with painting technique
10:30 Commercial Market for one hour
11:30 Administration, paperwork, return messages, call DM
12:00 Eat Lunch
12:30 Commercial Estimate
2:00 Collect check at Smith job, get reference letter and referral names
2:30 Interview a potential painter at local coffee shop
3:30 Visit crew #1, evaluate progress and set expectations
4:30 Visit crew #2, clean up, pick up check, get reference letter and referral names
5:30 Job site area market with crew
6:30 Residential Estimate
8:00 Call clients, set up estimate appointments, plan future production
9:00 Call crew chiefs, plan crew moves, determine supplies needed, plan tomorrow
* While any one of these things may be done on any given day, the point of this is to show candidate that they must be flexible and prepared to deal with any one of these activities at any time.
